Focus and Scope
The aim of the WER is to provide authoritative and objective analysis and commentary on the Welsh economy, and regional economies in general, in a manner that promotes understanding and informs decision-making. Papers are welcome on any topic that would be of general interest to the readership.
WER currently publishes one volume each year, containing a number of different articles, reviews and project reports.

The first edition of the WER was published in 1988. It was produced every year since then until 2013. Following a short break in publication, the WER was relaunched in 2016.
It is now an electronic-only publication, but started out as a print one (ISSN 0965-2450), and later appeared in both formats. The last print issue was published in 2016.
